Rachel Zegler is headlining the new Disney animated film "Snow White" but she does not always have fond memories about the cartoon.

"I was scared of the original cartoon. I think I watched it once, and then I never picked it up again," Zegler revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"I'm being so serious, I watched it once, and then I went on the ride in Disney World, which is called, 'Snow White's Scary Adventures,' doesn't sound like something a little kid would like, was terrified of it, never revisited Snow White again. So, I watched it for the first time in probably 16, 17 years when I was doing this film," she explained.

"I had no idea what I was auditioning for," Zegler revealed with a laugh. "When I auditioned, it's kinda a hilarious question to say 'What drew you to the material' like I didn't realize that I was reading lines with Dopey."

"Then our director Mark Webb, on zoom, was like, 'You know and Dopey's gonna look at you and whistle. And I took a pause and realized what I was auditioning for," she added.

Also in the interview, Gal Gadot talked about what drew her to accept the role of the evil queen.

"There is something so iconic about being part of the first fairytale ever told by Disney," she said. "It's the first long animated movie ever to be released."

While preparing for the role, Gadot said she had to incorporate a few movements of the evil queen in her daily life.

"I enjoyed it so much. I even took it home and I changed my voice and I used my body as a way to express her even more," the actress said as she demonstrated the iconic movements of the famous villain.

Zegler earlier slammed critics who frowned over Disney casting a Latina actress for "Snow White."

"Never in a million years did I imagine that this would be a possibility for me. You don't normally see Snow Whites that are of Latin descent. Even though Snow White is really a big deal in Spanish-speaking countries," she said during Variety's "Actors on Actors" in January.

"Snow White" is set to be released in theaters in March 2024.
