"South Park" Season 22 continues to feature controversial episodes.

For its premiere episode, Comedy Central's adult animated sitcom touched on the controversial and timely subject of school shootings. Their next episode, titled "A Boy and A Priest," will be no less controversial as it will cover the abuse scandal of the Catholic Church.

"A very special relationship has developed between Butters and the Parish Priest. When the town finds the church doors locked and no sign of the pair, they call in the Catholic Church," the synopsis of "South Park" Season 22, episode 2 read.

The promo video for "South Park" Season 22, episode 2 features a conversation between Randy (Trey Parker) and Steven (Parker). Randy calls Steven to inform him that some boys have gone missing after they joined a priest for camping. They are trying to figure out where the priest would go camping, so they can find the missing kids.

"Hey Randy, what’s up?" Steven says on his cell phone.

"Steven, Steven listen. The boys are missing. Their friends said they went camping with the priest," Randy answers.

"Camping with the priest? Should we call the police or buy some condoms?" Steven responds.

Randy laughs and says, "That was good but seriously I've checked the county park where else could he have them?"

"I don't know where a priest would go camping," Steven adds.

According to Uproxx, this isn't the first time the series will cover this controversial topic since its conception in 1997. Back in 2002, "South Park" Season 6 featured "Red Hot Catholic Love" for its eighth episode.

It showed Father Maxi traveling to the Vatican after learning that many Catholic priests in Colorado have molested children. The publication described the episode as "definitely one of the show's weirder and more controversial entries in its tenure." Thus, fans should expect the upcoming episode to edge towards the same notoriety.

In related news, prior to the return of "South Park" Season 22, the production started a weird campaign. They were calling for the cancelation of the series. A few weeks before its premiere episode aired, they used the hashtag "#cancelsouthpark."

"That's great! The new season starts in 14 days #cancelsouthpark," one of the show's posts on Twitter read.

"South Park" Season 22, episode 2 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 3 on Comedy Central at 10 p.m. EDT.
