Moviegoers can make their next return trip to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on July 2 when Sony and Marvel Studios release “Spider-Man: Far From Home” in theaters. The second solo “Spider-Man” movie in the MCU, the film follows Peter Parker on a globe-trotting adventure as he takes a school trip to Europe. Once there, he is recruited by Nicky Fury to help a mysterious, new figure fight beings known as the Elementals.

With many actors returning from the first movie and the MCU at large with a handful of newcomers, there are a lot of cast members to catch up and get to know. Here’s a breakdown of the sizeable cast of “Far From Home.”

Breaking out in 2012 in the real-life tsunami drama “The Impossible,” British actor Tom Holland is one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood. He took over as the web-slinger after Andrew Garfield, and has so far played the character in “Captain America: Civil War,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” He is also slated to play a young Nathan Drake in the forthcoming “Uncharted” movie in 2020.

Jake Gyllenhaal (Quentin Beck/Mysterio)

One of the preeminent actors of the 21st Century, Gyllenhaal is finally making his superhero movie debut after nearly replacing Tobey Maguire in “Spider-Man 2.” Gyllenhaal broke out with celebrated leading roles in “Donnie Darko” and “Brokeback Mountain,” the latter of which netted him an Oscar nomination.

Zendaya (Michelle “MJ” Jones)

Returning as the reimagined version of Spider-Man’s iconic love interest, Zendaya Coleman started out as a Disney Channel actress and pop star in “K.C. Undercover,” then moving on to a prominent role in “The Greatest Showman” and the lead in HBO’s controversial new series, “Euphoria.”

Marisa Tomei (Aunt May)

Tomei won an Oscar for “My Cousin Vinny” in 1993, and has since appeared in “The Wrestler,” “The Big Short,” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”

Angourie Rice (Betty)

Reprising a minor role from “Homecoming,” Rice is an Aussie actress who wowed in “The Nice Guys” and recently played the lead in the YA romance, “Every Day.”
