One of the biggest games of the year is upon us as Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play Super Mario Odyssey on Oct. 27 but many are wondering when they can start downloading and hopping into the expansive world of the new Mario game.

In the past, the Nintendo Switch didn’t allow for players to pre-download games ahead of its release but with the latest 4.0 update, gamers can now pre-download games so they are ready to go when the game is official released on the eShop.

You can visit the Nintendo eShop on your Switch and Super Mario Odyssey should be right on the front page. If not, you can simply input Mario and the game will appear in the search.

With this new feature, gamers can hop right into Super Mario Odyssey as quickly as possible. Pre-downloading the game may give access to the game at midnight EDT.

Visit the Nintendo eShop to pre-purchase the game, then let the game pre-load itself onto your console.

When the game launches on Oct. 27 at midnight (EDT), connect your Switch to the internet to verify your game and it will unlock.

Gamers can also go the classic route in obtaining Super Mario Odyssey and head over to a GameStop or other video game retailer to get the game at midnight.

Nintendo NY in Rockefeller Center will be hosting a launch event for Super Mario Odyssey on Oct. 26 that will let players get the game at midnight so if you have time and are in the city, be sure to come on down and get on line.

Super Mario Odyssey releases for Nintendo Switch Oct. 27.
