Will Havoc earn a spot in Cyrus Spencer’s team in “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14? FOX

The final Academy episode for “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 aired on Monday night.

Next week, the 10 all-stars will be making the toughest decision of their lives by announcing which dancer will join them in the live shows. Prior to this extremely challenging installment, the remaining dancers who have already found their place in an all-star’s team had to battle it out by dancing with their professional partner.

Kaylee Millis and Havoc, who are both on Cyrus Spencer’s team, learned a hip-hop choreography from the latter. Since Havoc is a professional hip-hop dancer, it seemed like he had the routine all figured out. During his performance with Spencer, Havoc gave the dance everything he’s got. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Millis.

The dance teacher also did an amazing job since she was able to incorporate her fierce attitude into majority of the moves from Spencer’s routine. But since hip-hop isn’t really her expertise, she struggled a little bit more than her competitor. Prior to their performance, Spencer asked why Millis chose to work with him in the first place. She said that she knew that if Spencer asked her to be in his team, she wouldn’t miss the opportunity for the world.

Meanwhile, Gaby Diaz also performed a tap routine with Lex Ishimoto and Evan DeBenedetto, separately. But both acts danced to a stripped down rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.” Both Ishimoto and DeBenedetto gave an all-out performance, but it was only the former’s audition that was shown in the hit FOX reality TV competition. Diaz, just like Spencer would have to make a decision next year.

All-star Jenna Johnson also performed with krumper Kevin Davis Jr. and ballroom dancer Kiki Nyemchek. Davis Jr. and Nyemchek specialize on different styles so Johnson decided to choreograph two different routines for them just to be fair. Davis Jr. left all the other nine all-stars cheering for him and Johnson, but Nyemchek also did an impressive job in this week’s episode.

“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
