Taron Egerton surprised his fans when he shared a rather sexy snap of himself baring his thighs and his chest to greet birthday celebrant Elton John.

The renowned singer-songwriter turned 72 on Monday, so the Hollywood actor, who portrays John in the upcoming movie “Rocketman,” decided to share a photo of him channeling the world-famous English composer.

In this picture, the 29-year-old hunky actor is seen casually sitting on a chair while wearing a gold tight underwear and a matching jacket. Egerton also rocks a pair of striking gold, blue and red boots and star-shaped sunglasses to complete the look.

“Happy Birthday, [Elton John]. You are just about the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met. In honour of your birthday, here’s a photo of me (as you) in some hot pants,” Egerton jokingly captioned his post.

Egerton made headlines last year after he admitted that he really enjoyed filming his first sex scene with co-star Richard Madden of “Bodyguard” and “Game of Thrones” fame. In an interview with MTV, the “Kingsman” star clarified that he’s no gay, but he appreciates the good looks of other men.

“I really threw myself into it. I filmed my first sex scene for this film and it’s with quite a well-known man. I do feel the movie we shot is absolutely a celebration of everything that Elton John is and part of that is his sexuality.”

Just recently, several reports claimed that the gay sex scene was being cut from the official release. To put an end to the issue, director Dexter Fletcher stated on Twitter that the reports are “nothing but rumors” and the movie will definitely be “no holds barred.”

The movie is co-produced by Elton John and husband David Furnish. Apart from Egerton and Madden, who plays Elton’s ex John Reid, the film also stars Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard and Steven Mackintosh.

The film is written by Lee Hall. Although it presents some facts about Elton’s rise to fame, some parts have been fictionalized. Hence, it is not considered a biopic. Fletcher told Digital Spy that it’s more of a “musical fantasy”

“Rocketman” is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 31.
