Taylor Swift became a trending topic on Twitter due to her hair at the 2022 American Music Awards Sunday night.

The "Bad Blood" singer made a surprise appearance at the 2022 AMAs to accept the favorite pop album award for "Red (Taylor's Version)" and five other trophies during the ceremony.

Swift wore a plunging, '70s-inspired golden rhinestone jumpsuit by The Blonds. She paired the disco-glam look with her signature red lip and Vram and Nouvel Heritage jewelry and styled her hair in full, flowing curls.

Swift's hairstyle immediately trended on Twitter, with many of her fans praising it.

"I need to give her hair stylist a hug, I am so grateful. I never thought we'd see a curl or wave again," one person tweeted.

"I AM OBSESSED WITH HER HAIR," a second user wrote.

"She needs to wear her hair like this every day, sorry," a third fan added.

"Me out loud alone in my room: 'Her hair is so curly! It hasn't been curly in so long! I love it,'" a fourth person shared.

Some speculated that Swift may have been sending a message through her curls as the singer is known for putting Easter eggs in her songs, videos, wardrobe and more.

Some Swifties suggested that the pop star may be teasing the new version of her third studio album, "Speak Now," which featured her rocking curls on the album cover when it was first released on Oct. 25, 2010.

"Her hair and 'Speak Now [Taylor's Version]' trending," one fan tweeted with crying emojis.

"The way her hair swoops here specifically??? 'Speak Now' is almost out of the oven," another wrote.

"The top half of her hair is giving '1989,' [while] the bottom half is giving 'Speak Now,'" a different user opined.

"It's giving 'Speak Now,' but elevated, Taylor's version if you will," a fourth fan commented.

Swift secured her place as the artist with the most AMA wins of all time with a total of 26 in 2019. This year, Bad Bunny led the pack with eight nominations and could take the title from the "Look What You Made Me Do" songstress.

During Swift's last appearance at the awards show, she performed a medley of her hits, including "The Man," "Love Story" and "I Knew You Were Trouble." At the time, Swift, who was still in a legal battle with her former manager Scooter Braun, was presented with the artist of the decade award, Entertainment Tonight reported.

"The last year of my life has had some of the most amazing times and also some of the hardest things I've gone through," she said in her acceptance speech at the time. "I wanted to thank you so much for being the thing that has been a constant in my life."

In 2020, Swift took home the artist of the year award. She accepted the award from the studio where she was re-recording her albums.
