A teen boy in Michigan has been arrested after cops found the dead body of a woman in the bed of the pickup truck he was driving.

The 19-year-old suspect, Stephen Freeman from Lexington, Sanilac County, has been charged with concealing the death of an individual and receiving and concealing stolen property after cops found the body of 62-year-old Gabrielle Seitz in the vehicle at a crash site on Oct. 27, Law & Crime reported.

Freeman fled on foot after the pickup truck crashed into a semi-truck in Roseville, Michigan. Police found the body of Seitz in the vehicle around 30 minutes after the crash.

Police later took Freeman into custody from Waterford where he was found sleeping in the back of a car.

Although the cause of Setiz's death has not been determined, investigators are treating the case as a murder. A shoelace was reportedly found around her neck and her body had signs of strangulation.

Freeman is also a person of interest in the investigation. However, cops have not issued additional charges of murder against him as they await the medical examiner's report.

Seitz's family said she did not know Freeman but had concerns about her safety at her home in Roseville. "She was just telling everyone 'I want to get out of here," Seitz's son, Justin Omans, told 7 ABC. "I want answers because it's killing me inside."

"She was the sweetest person alive that everyone loved. She made people laugh...she liked to dance, sing, everything. She was just a perfect mother, a perfect friend, a perfect sister to everyone that know her," Omans said, reported Law & Crime.

Officials have not revealed further details about the case.

"Because the investigation is ongoing, we are limited on what can be said at this time. However, when we have the additional information from the investigation, we will be updating everyone," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said, Click On Detroit reported.

Freeman's bond was set at $75,000, according to court documents.
