Things are heating up in the battle between "Teen Mom 2" exes Nathan Griffith and Jenelle Evans as they prepare to duke it out over custody of their young son. The pair have had their fair share of issues since splitting, including several incidents of domestic violence for which Jenelle, 23, may be facing jail time. New reports suggest that Nathan, 27,want to ensure his son Kaiser's safety by getting custody.

According to Radar Online (via OK! Magazine), Nathan is prepared for the nasty fight that is sure to ensue as he seeks full custody of the 15-month-old. Sources told the publication he doesn't feel comfortable with the toddler being around his former fiancée's new boyfriend, David Eason. The publication reports that Nathan wants Kaiser to have the opportunity to grow up in a healthy and safe environment and doesn't believe that he will have that opportunity with his mother. He fears her new beau "doesn't seem like a good guy" and has begun to take action.

"Nathan could very easily go to court and try to get custody of Kai," the source said. "He is looking into what his options are."

Little is known about David, 27, at this time but Twitter users were able to uncover a few facts. According to one user, using the pseudonym Classy Carmen, Jenelle's new love interest has a pretty lengthy arrest record. Carmen tweeted several mugshots from various arrests. Each incident occurred between 2012 and 2014 and carried with them several charges ranging from probation violation to driving while impaired and even one felony breaking and entering arrest.

Although it is unclear when they met, Jenelle reportedly went on a double date with David on Sept. 22. She uploaded a photo from the outing in which she showed his face for the first time. Jenelle later shared another photo, posing with a female friend. In the photo's caption she claimed she was "Trying to look cute for a selfie with her...but she doesn't care..." She then took to Twitter where she shared with fans that she was "so happy."

Although she may be on cloud nine with her new man, Jenelle is still facing some serious legal issues. Recent clips for upcoming episodes of "TM2" Season 6 showed Jenelle meeting with lawyers. The meeting was called to discuss potential jail time she may be facing stemming from a May incident in which she threw a glass at Jessica Henry, Nathan's new girlfriend. The couple arrived at Jenelle's home after the controversial "TM2" star requested that Nathan gather his things before she moved.
