A 15-year old boy was fatally stabbed in East London on Tuesday night. The boy who was found stabbed, later succumbed to his injuries even as the paramedics battled close to an hour to save him.

Police officers were called at 18:45 p.m. BST to Byford Close in Stratford, after reports of a fight emerged.

The name of the victim has not yet been revealed. His next of kin have, however, been informed, the Scotland Yard said. The death is being treated as a murder and an investigation has been launched, BBC reported.

No arrests have been made currently and Detectives from Met’s Specialist Crime are leading the investigation, Scotland Yard said.

The Met Police have issued a statement asking for people who have information to come forward.

“Anyone with information which could help the investigation, is asked to call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 6616/3 Sept. If you have information that could help us investigate, but don’t want to speak to police, please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They do not ask your name and cannot trace your call or I.P address,” they said.

A witness who wished to remain anonymous told BBC News that she saw the boy collapsed on to the floor. According to her the paramedics arrived right away and tried to save the boy, but couldn’t do so.

A post-mortem and formal identification process will take place in due time, the police said.

A Section 60 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, allowing the police to stop and frisk people has been implemented across the Newham borough.

The killing is the latest in a series of violent deaths on London's streets this year. There have been 94 homicides including murders and other unlawful killings in the capital in 2019 alone, The Sun reported.
