Finally, the “Thor 4” is here! Marvel’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson was revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 panel on Saturday.

A day after the announcement of “Thor 4” at SDCC 2019, an artist (@pabloruizzx) uploaded a fan-created poster of the Norse god, Thor, holding a Mjolnir. The same photo depicted a female version of Thor who is, interestingly, holding a hammer similar to that of Odin's son. The same is also uploaded in the artist’s Twitter account.

Portman, who played the role of Jane Foster in “Thor 1 and Thor 2” films, will reprise in “Thor 4” to play the character of the female Thor. A snap of the 38-year-old Israeli-American actress holding the hammer, during the SDCC 2019, was posted on the Instagram account of movieweb (@movieweb).

The storyline of “Thor: Love and Thunder” will be based on the “Mighty Thor,” which, according to Jason Aron, is full of emotions, love, and thunder. In addition, it will also introduce Thor’s female counterpart, Deadline reported.

There is no information yet about the script and it is yet to be seen by Hemsworth, who will reprise his role as Thor and Thompson, who will portray the character of Valkyrie. Other than what was announced during the SDCC 2019, which included Thompson’s Valkyrie character to appear in the “Thor: Love and Thunder” film as LGBTQ, Marvel is keeping any details under the wraps.

Portman first appeared in the first film “Thor” and reprised her role as Foster in the second movie “Thor: The Dark Word.” Her character’s lack of appearance in the subsequent film was explained in a manner that Foster and Thor had broken up.

Meanwhile, in the comics, the character of Foster is said to become Thor after the original God of Thunder was deemed unworthy to be the hammer’s bearer. In Norse mythology, the Mjolnir one of the most formidable and powerful weapons ever created.

This weapon could not be lifted by anyone unless they are deemed worthy. In the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Hawkeye, Ironman, Hulk, and Captain America tried but they have not succeeded.

One of the most noteworthy even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was when Hela, Asgardian goddess of death, destroyed the Mjolnir in front of Loki and Thor himself. That said, there is a possibility that Lady Thor will obtain her power in a different way, The Verge reported.

Taiki Waititi, the master behind of Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” will direct this fourth installment. Watch for “Thor: Love and Thunder” in Fall of 2021.
