Tiktok star Nessa Barrett, who was allegedly the reason behind Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson’s breakup, has opened up about kissing the latter.

During a recent Instagram Live interview with the Zach Sang Show, Barrett called the kiss a "terrible mistake."

"Yeah, that was a terrible mistake that I made. But I don’t think that we should have gotten hate for it online. But I do regret that, a lot," she said.

Barrett went on to say that she was "still in love" with ex-boyfriend Josh Richards which the incident took place.

"I don’t know why, a lot of people are trying to make it seem like a cheating scandal thing. …I didn’t intend for any of that to happen. Sometimes, things just happen. I’m 18, you know? It was obviously the wrong person, and… I don’t know," she added.

Hudson and D’Amelio broke up earlier this year after the former allegedly cheated on her with Barrett. In July, D’Amelio unfollowed Hudson and also threw a shade at him saying, "I hope she was worth it. :)"

Hudson responded claiming that "all of this drama is going on because I kissed Nessa when we were both single."

However, a few days later, he admitted to kissing Barrett.

"I just wanted to come on here and really apologize to all you guys for the way things unfolded online. I should have just done my part and kept it offline," Hudson said in an Instagram video.

"I made sure to apologize to Charli. It still shouldn't have ever happened. I'll be learning a lot from this as a person, growing from it and setting a better example," he added.

On the other hand, Barrett and Richards confirmed their split in June. The two have, however, been spending some quality time of late, giving rise to speculations that they could be back together.

"Me and Nessa are really good friends. We were friends before we started dating and everything like that so we kind of promised each other at the start that we were going to do everything we could to not lose that. So, I mean, that's why we are still friends today. But yeah, that's kind of it for that. I'm not really doing anything in the dating world aspect right now," Richards recently told E! News.
