  • Chelsea is open to reacquire Belgian winger Eden Hazard

  • New Chelsea coach aims to add veteran players to guide his young guns

Things have not exactly been sweet for Eden Hazard at Santiago Bernabeu.

The 30-year-old’s run with Real Madrid has been plagued with injuries, and this may force the hand of Zinedine Zidane to re-evaluate the future of the Belgian football player.

Despite his health struggles, it remains that he is a talent that can make big strides if he is managed properly. One team reportedly interested in gambling on him anew is his former team, Chelsea.

According to Defensa Central, the Blues could be a potential stop if Real Madrid gives up on the Belgian.

Should it go down, the reunion would make sense with the Blues needing some veterans to guide the youth-filled squad with players who have proven experience.

The Blues are expected to head in a new direction with a new manager at the helm. Frank Lampard was sacked for not meeting the expectations of Chelsea management.

Thomas Tuchel has taken over and one of the possible things he may do is tweak the roster a bit and bring in vets, particularly the ones who have played at Stamford Bridge in the past.

Hazard is allegedly drawing interest from the Blues at about half of the initial transfer fee of $112 million that was paid for the player in 2019.

It would be further spending for Chelsea who spent huge last summer on players like Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

However, the question of health remains in the air if Chelsea does swoop in. As mentioned in a previous post, the Belgian is expected to miss time again after suffering a muscle injury.

He is expected to be out for at least a month, leaving Zidane in a deep hole. Hazard has started only six times for Real Madrid in La Liga. In addition, he has only completed 90 minutes in one league match.
