  • Liverpool is preparing for a potential swoop of Erlind Haaland of Borussia Dortmund
  • The Reds are gearing up for the possible exits of Firminho and Salah
  • Haaland is in no rush to decide where he will play next season

Multiple teams have their sights set on Erlind Haaland, one of which is Liverpool.

Although any deal involving the Norwegian won't happen anytime soon, the Reds appear to be doing the little things to hopefully snag the 21-year-old striker from Borussia Dortmund.

According to 90min, Liverpool has allegedly contacted Mino Raiola about the Norwegian striker.

Haaland can leave Borussia Dortmund in the next 12 months for a fee under £70 million ($96.7 million).

Haaland is set to become one of the most sought-after players in 2022 once his release clause is activated.

Considering he has been performing well this season for Die Borussen with five goals in four Bundesliga games, there is no question that attention has ramped up all the more.

The Reds know they have to look for options, especially with the future of Robert Firminho and Mohamed Salah up in the air.

Haaland looms as the perfect fit for Liverpool, undoubtedly one of the best in the position right now.

Despite the interest of multiple teams, Liverpool is seen as the team that holds high chances of acquiring him.

A reason behind that is the success the Reds have had in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League as well as other leagues.

It hardly comes as a surprise that Haaland wants to play for a contending team that has a big chance of winning titles.

Liverpool has a proven track record so a possible move to Anfield would make a lot of sense.

However, everything still depends on what Haaland has in mind. He knows that there is a huge level of interest in him and is not planning to decide on his future hastily.

Aside from Liverpool, Chelsea is another team that expressed interest in the Norwegian striker. The Blues were willing to pay up to £150 million ($207 million) to acquire Haaland.

But Dortmund opted to pass up on any deal involving Haaland, especially following the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United. Much of this was covered in a previous post.

As far as Haaland’s camp is concerned, any decision they make will be up to them. Raiola is pretty much aware of the growing interest in his client.

However, he is looking for a lucrative offer that would make Haaland one of the highest-paid footballers in the world.
