Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are not having “family therapy sessions” with their children at his rehab facility, despite rumors. Gossip Cop debunked claims their three children were helping him fight substance abuse as family.

According to Radar Online, Affleck and Garner were trying “intense” family therapy sessions in the rehab. An insider told the magazine their children “have been there, and are getting family counseling and intense therapy sessions.”

Speaking about their two girls — Violet Anne Affleck, 12, and Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, 9 — the source said, “The girls are well aware of what is going on with their dad and they also understand what alcoholism is.” However, nothing was mentioned about the couple’s 6-year-old son, Samuel Garner Affleck.

“Jen has no intentions of working anything out with him, but she does want him to stay sober so that he can be a father to their kids,” the insider said.

A spokesperson for the actress said the claims about the children doing therapy sessions at the rehab are completely baseless and untrue.

Last week, Garner was photographed driving her estranged husband to the rehab, where the actor is now seeking treatment for alcohol addiction.

A source told People that her biggest concern was their kids. She had been hoping to finalize her divorce with him soon but struggled with questions like “Is Ben healthy enough to have custody? Can she rely on him to co-parent?”

Another source said she “knew he needed help and was vocal about it.”

His return to treatment came few days after he was spotted with model Shauna Sexton. A source said Garner’s “concern right now is not who he is dating” but “she ultimately cares about is his sobriety.”

Post his return to treatment, insiders revealed that he spirals into a “destructive phase” when he is not working.

“Ben has a substance abuse problem with alcohol, which has been on and off for a very long time; he’s been battling these demons for years. He’s currently in rehab, and it’s likely he’ll be in and out of treatment more times in the future,” an insider told Page Six.

Another source said “Ben has never been afraid to ask for help, which shows growth from past years. He’s working to better himself and hopefully this was the wake-up call he needed. He goes to meetings every day. He’s never got out of a rehab. He is suffering, and thankfully he’s not afraid to ask for help. Rehab is a good thing,”

This is the third time the actor is in a rehab. In March 2017, the actor wrote on Facebook he had been treated for addiction. “I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step. I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery,” he wrote.
