Prince William may be the person Queen Elizabeth is leaning on amid Prince Andrew’s scandal instead of her heir, Prince Charles, according to a new report. However, there has been no evidence supporting this claim.

Radar Online claimed that Her Majesty decided to not leave Prince Charles the throne because she’s blaming him for not stopping the Duke of York’s scandal.

“This is the biggest scandal the royals have faced in decades. Her Majesty blames Andrew for causing it – and Charles for not stopping it! She believes only William can save the monarchy,” an unnamed source said.

The insider claimed that after Prince Charles returned to London from his trip to New Zealand, the Queen ordered him to her private quarters to tell him her decision. The monarch allegedly confronted her eldest son for not containing the scandal when it first erupted 10 years ago.

Prince Charles reportedly protested but the Queen shut him down. The 93-year-old monarch has become convinced that only Prince William and Kate Middleton could ensure the future of the British monarchy.

However, it is unlikely that this happened since the palace has made no announcement regarding the succession to the British throne. The Queen still serves as the head of the monarchy and even though she’s already 93 years old, she has not retired from her post.

The Queen has also been preparing Prince Charles for his role, which makes it unlikely for her to give the throne straight to Prince William. Royal expert Russell Myers told Express that Prince Charles will be taking on more responsibilities following Prince Andrew’s resignation.

This statement proves that the Queen is still relying on her eldest son. But she is also seeking the help of Prince William.

“This really does represent a significant changing of the guard. That’s certainly what I’m hearing here at Buckingham Palace. The two other senior members of the royal family are taking over responsibility from the Queen,” Myers said.

Following his trip to New Zealand, Prince Charles visited Prince Philip in Sandringham to seek his advice. Myers said that this shows that the heir to the throne is really taking a leadership role in the royal family.
