Karamo Brown took over Ryan Seacrest's hosting gig at the 2021 Golden Globes Sunday following the latter's exit from "E!’s Live from the Red Carpet."

For this year's Golden Globes ceremony, Brown co-hosted the red carpet show alongside Giuliana Rancic, sporting a Burberry suit in his first appearance as host of the awards-season staple. This was the first awards show since Seacrest announced in early February that he was moving on from "Live from the Red Carpet" after 14 years.

The "Queer Eye" star and Rancic interviewed the nominees virtually due to pandemic restrictions, Page Six reported.

E! has yet to announce who will officially replace Seacrest so viewers were surprised to see Brown taking over his hosting spot.

Some appeared to disapprove of Brown becoming Seacrest's replacement. "This is getting beyond ridiculous," one person wrote.

"Hollywood has managed to woke its way into total irrelevancy. Maybe chord cutting has some impact, but it’s hard to imagine that politics haven’t been the driving force," another tweeted.

Some Twitter users pointed out that race had nothing to do with Brown's hiring as it was Seacrest who decided to leave the show. "you're the only one making this about race lol," one commented.

Others, meanwhile, support the network's choice and think Brown is already doing a great job.

"OMG loving you on the Red Carpet tonite!!!" one fan commented on a video of Brown doing the "Up Challenge" on "Live from the Red Carpet."

"Go get them tonight! You're the best," another added.

Wrote a third fan, "idk if y’all watch this stuff but @Karamo is killing the hosting game at the golden globes."

"This is a Karamo Brown stan account," another said.

Seacrest announced in February that he will no longer host the pre-show to the major award shows moving forward. In his announcement, he made it clear it was his decision to do so.

"After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet I’ve decided to move on to new adventures," he wrote on Instagram. "I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years."
