After missing a chance to earn a key victory in their first match of the 2022 World Cup, the United States Men's National Team's upcoming meeting with England takes on even more importance. The USMNT takes on the Group B favorites the day after Thanksgiving, looking to pull off an upset.

Friday's match between the USA and England starts at 2 p.m. ET in Qatar. Viewers can watch the contest on Fox or with the Fox Sports app. The latest betting odds suggest that the USA is unlikely to pick up its first World Cup win.

England is a -180 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook to beat the USA, which has +500 odds to win the second match of group play. The odds of a tie are +310.

The USA was less than 20 minutes away from winning its first World Cup match and putting itself in a strong position to advance beyond group play. The Americans blew a 1-0 lead against Wales Monday when Gareth Bale's penalty kick tied the match in the 82nd minute.

Timothy Weah gave the USA its lead with a goal in the match's 36th minute.

"It felt like in the first half we had a lot of energy, a lot of momentum," Weah said after the match. "And then coming into the second half we dialed down and Wales turned it up a notch. They started pressing us, they had most of the ball and I think at the end that's what really hurt us."

The draw leaves the USA and Wales tied with one point apiece in group play.

England is atop the Group B standings, following a 6-2 rout of Iran. Iran is in last place and a long shot to qualify for the knockout stage.

Harry Kane is an odds-on favorite at -110 to score in Friday's match. The England forward led all players at the 2018 World Cup with six goals.

The USA and England tied 1-1 when they met at the 2010 World Cup.
