Although he is a famous dancer who is praised for his talents, Val Chmerkovskiy has decided to bask in the glory of becoming an uncle. The “Dancing With the Stars” professional recently gushed about his new nephew whose parents are brother Maks Chmerkovskiy and fellow dancer Peta Murgatroyd.

During an appearance on “Good Morning America” Tuesday, the dancer was congratulated about the latest addition to his family and his new role as uncle. “I didn’t do much, I just woke up like that,” the dancer joked with Michael Strahan, according to Gossip Cop.

Despite his humor, Chmerkovskiy was delighted about his nephew, calling the newborn “amazing” and complimenting his good looks by admitting he is “very handsome like his parents.” The star even missed one of his “Dancing With The Stars Live!” tour dates so he could witness his nephew’s birth.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and fiancée Peta Murgatroyd welcomed their first child together on Jan. 4, a son named Shai Aleksander. The couple began dating in 2012 but called the relationship off in 2013 after 10 months together. Although he went on to date other women like Kate Upton, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd eventually reunited in 2013 and were engaged by December 2015.

“I dodged a bullet [by getting her back] because she could have fallen in love with somebody else and this never would’ve happened,” Chmerkovskiy told People shortly after their engagement.

Nowadays the couple seems happier than ever posting cute photos of themselves and glimpses of their newborn son.

Although kids may not be his very next step in life, Val Chmerkovskiy seems to be getting pretty serious with “Dancing With the Stars” alum Amber Rose. The two were spotted spending some quality time together during a Sunday basketball game in which the Atlanta Hawks beat out the New York Knicks.

Rose shared one of their moments during the game together on Instagram. The mother of one posted a video of her boyfriend giving her a kiss on the cheek when they were put on the arena’s big screen. “Why is he so cute tho,” Rose wrote, followed by a heart emoji.

Chmerkovskiy followed suit and posted the same video, however, his post included some dance numbers from the ABC hit series. “Jumbotron vibes with my boo,” he wrote describing the adorable moment.

The two first sparked dating rumors in October 2016 and have gradually become more public with their romance.
