Valerie Bertinelli is getting real about body image.

On Thursday, the "Hot in Cleveland" actress, 61, shared an emotional video about body image and weight issues on Instagram and candidly revealed to fans that she's having a hard time with both.

"I’m standing out in the rain because I’m doing my best to distract my mind from spiraling to a place of self-loathing because I saw a picture of myself today that made me want to do that," she said.

Bertinelli admitted that she isn't sure if she will ever get to a place where she is happy with her body.

"I am not where I want to be right now, body-wise. I don't know if I ever will be, but when I see it right in front of me, it really does send me down that path. And I am doing my best to be positive and more full of joy, and hopefully, my body will follow along. I'm not there yet," she said.

But she added in the video that she will try not to focus on her shortcomings, flaws and imperfections. At the same time, she acknowledged the things that she should be grateful for.

"We can all give ourselves permission to feel joy, be intentional about it, and remember to be grateful," she added. "I am grateful, even through all the mess. 'cause there's still good in all the mess."

This wasn't the first time Bertinelli had opened up about body image on social media.

Back in July, the Food Network host got emotional after receiving a harsh comment from one troll, who wrote on a recipe she posted online that she "needed to lose weight." Bertinelli posted a video in which she made it known that she was upset about being a victim of body shaming.

"Because see, I don’t have a scale or I don’t have clothes that I’m trying to put on every day, and I don’t have mirrors so I don’t see what’s become of me," she said sarcastically in the video uploaded on Instagram. "So I needed that help to let me know that I need to lose weight."

The "Valerie's Home Cooking" star went on to slam the online troll, adding that if she could, she would "lose the weight and keep it off."

"You’re not being helpful," she added. "Because when you see somebody who has put some weight on, my first thought is, 'That person is obviously going through some things.'"

Bertinelli admitted that she hasn't been successful in losing weight despite years of trying, and at her age, she is still dealing with it. "You think I'm not tired of it, lady? Not f--king helpful," she concluded her rant.

In the caption, Bertinelli wrote that she initially planned to delete her stories because she felt embarrassed showing her vulnerable side. However, she realized that she hit a "good" nerve and instead decided to own it.

"We all could use a little more kindness and patience and grace because we just never know what someone else is going through," she added.

In her addition to her body image struggles, Bertinelli's ex-husband Eddie Van Halen died from throat cancer at age 65 in October last year. She and the rocker were married from 1981 to 2007 and share a 30-year-old son, Wolfgang. Despite their divorce, they remained close friends.

The actress also filed for divorce from her second husband, financial planner and entrepreneur Tom Vitale, TMZ reported. The pair were married in 2011.
