The embroidered blanket reveals that King gave birth on Jan. 15 and named her daughter Florence May King. This is King’s first child. Her husband, The Fray guitarist Joe King, has two daughters from a previous marriage.

Florence started making headlines before she was even born when Pope Francis blessed her in September. While King was supporting her husband at a concert during the Papal visit, she had the opportunity to have her baby bump blessed.

“There was a very last minute opportunity to meet the Pope and I still can't believe my husband was able to say the words, 'Can you please bless our child?' and was able to take pictures without dropping the phone, while we're all, I think, shaking, a little bit,” King told Access Hollywood. “But it was a very quick moment that was so just incredibly – it all happened at lightning speed, but it was a huge honor, a literal blessing and an unforgettable moment that we will cherish talking about at many dinner parties to come.”

The couple announced they were expecting at the end of August. Though the 28-year-old actress’ due date hadn’t been revealed, “Vampire Diaries” showrunner Julie Plec hinted that the baby’s arrival was imminent. She said last week that King was officially on maternity leave. However, it won’t be a lengthy break.

“She actually won't be gone that long,” Plec told E! Online. “I think [episodes] 16 to 20, maybe. Actually, it's the same contracted amount she's in every year. It's just all in one stretch. It turned out to work out okay!”

King’s character on The CW drama is pregnant as well, but she is having twins. Also, they’re not technically her children. When Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) were attacked on their wedding day, Jo’s family of witches put the twins somewhere safe — in Caroline. Unlike King, Caroline is still pregnant, and it isn’t clear if she’ll give birth before or after the actress’ maternity leave.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
