Sometimes life in the spotlight can get a little twisted, and that's exactly what happened to "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev. The 23-year-old almost started a massive young Hollywood catfight when a quote from the September issue of Canada's Fashion magazine was blown out of proportion.

"Eventually I am going to marry and have a family but not anytime soon," Dobrev told the magazine. "I'm not going to pull a Miley."

Dobrev's comment referred to 19-year-old Miley Cyrus, who became engaged to her "Last Song" co-star Liam Hemsworth, 22, this past June.

The sassy slap at the former Disney star has since gone viral, leaving many to wait for a response from Cyrus. Dobrev has realized her mistake though, taking to Twitter to issue an apology to the singer/actress.

"Not to self, light hearted comments don't always translate in magazine articles. Big fan of @MileyCyrus - do you need a flower girl? :)" Dobrev tweeted on August 1.

The "Vampire Diaries" star made the reference to Cyrus after being questioned again about her relationship with co-star Ian Somerhalder. Dobrev and Somerhalder, 33, met on the set of the hit CW series, and since coming out into the open with their relationship have been faced with many rumors of an engagement.

While the "Vampire Diaries" co-stars may fun together, an engagement is not on the horizon for them.

"I'm a career woman and a young, very driven woman and I've got a lot I have to accomplish before I settle down and have kids and do any of that," Dobrev told Access Hollywood in January.

Miley Cyrus has not responded or acknowledged Nina Dobrev's tweet.
