Usman Ally’s character, Al Jaffar, may no longer be in a relationship with Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), but he will still play a huge role in “Veep” Season 7. HBO

“Veep” fans will get to see more of Usman Ally in Season 7.

While speaking with TV Line, showrunner David Mandel confirmed that Ally will reprise his role as Al Jaffar. “We haven’t seen the last of him. Usman has been so good,” he said. However, Mandel did not say whether or not Al Jaffar will try to win Selina Meyer’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) heart again.

In the finale episode for Season 6, the lead character decided to set her personal feelings for Al Jaffar aside so she could try to run for president of the United States again. Selina broke up with Al Jaffar, but she was seen crying in “Groundbreaking.” According to the publication, it has been very rare for viewers to see Selina’s emotional side since the show premiered in 2012. Selina crying at that time suggested that she really loved Al Jaffar deeply.

Meanwhile, the finale episode for “Veep” Season 6 also marked the end of the road for Matt Walsh’s character Mike. In one of the scenes, he received a pink slip or a notice of dismissal from his boss. But fans of Walsh and Mike will be delighted to know that the actor will also be part of “Veep” Season 7. “You should not be worried about Walsh’s future on the show. We have a pretty interesting idea for Mike next season,” the showrunner said.

Last month, Mandel also sat down for an interview with TV Line where he said that Selina running for president somewhat sets the tone for the show’s endgame. However, he also clarified that this does not mean Season 7 will be the last for the hit HBO series.

“It’s about something we’re going to be talking about very soon. We’re starting to think about an end game because, like anything else, we want to go out our way. We’re going to figure it out and hopefully announce something official. I don’t want to go there. I don’t want to sit down and figure it out if there are three more seasons, two more seasons, one more season… Everything is still on the table,” he said.

“Veep” Season 7 will premiere on HBO sometime next year.
