On Tuesday morning, Verizon customers on the East Coast faced a dilemma during their morning commute after it was reported that the company was experiencing technical difficulties. Many consumers are reporting they are unable to send text messages.

After numerous complaints, Verizon’s support team confirmed the glitch on its official Verizon Wireless Support page, tweeting, "We have confirmed there is a texting outage on the east coast. Our technicians a fully aware we have a ton of customers that are being effected, and we're working non-stop to get this matter resolved as soon as possible.”

On an outage map, website Down Detector also indicated that there were outages as far inland as Alabama and Illinois. Many customers complained online about being able to send but not receive texts, while others are unable to do either.

Meanwhile, for frustrated customers, they will just have to be patient, as customer service said the issue could be resolved "at any time."

The company did offer some advice, however, tweeting, "We have a ton of customers that are being effected by this, and we're working non-stop to get this matter resolved as soon as possible. We recommend to periodically restart your devices as this issue can be resolved at any time. Thank you so much for your continued patience."
