In honor of Veterans Day 2015, several restaurants chains nationwide will be paying tribute to active and retired members of the U.S. armed forces by gifting them free meals. Keep in mind, almost all of the businesses listed below require that proper identification (such as a military ID) is provided in order to participate in the following offers.

Here's a list of where to get your freebies on Wednesday, Nov. 11:

  • California Pizza Kitchen -- Snag a free entrée at participating California Pizza Kitchen locations. The 14 meal choices will be included as part of a special Veterans Day menu. A few of the items that will be available include the chain's original BBQ chicken pizza, a full-size Thai Crunch salad and Kung Pao spaghetti with chicken. The offer is valid for dine-in customers only. (Note: airport locations, stadiums, international locations and the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas are not participating in this promotion.)

  • Red Robin -- If you’re in the mood for a burger, head to Red Robin. The chain is giving away free Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries at its restaurants. In addition to the free meal, Red Robin is also giving its military Red Robin Royalty members (more on that here) a 20 percent discount at its various locations from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31.

  • Outback Steakhouse -- Enjoy a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and drink at participating Outback Steakhouse locations. If you’re unable to get your freebie this Veterans Day, don’t fret! For the first time ever the restaurant is offering a rain check to those currently deployed to redeem when they return. (Register for that offer here.) Military families will also receive 15 percent off their meals Nov. 12 through Dec. 31.

  • Applebee’s -- More than 2,000 Applebee’s locations will be offering several menu items for free to veterans and active military this Veterans Day. Their Thank You Meal menu includes various signature items, such as a house sirloin steak, American Standard All-In Burger and Oriental Chicken Salad. This offer is valid for dine-customers only.

  • Hurricane Grill & Wings -- You can get a free meal and a non-alcoholic drink when you visit any participating Hurricane Grill & Wings location. Menu items included in the offer range from wings, to a grilled chicken caesar salad, tacos and more.

  • Buffalo’s Cafe -- While there is no Veterans Day menu available for Buffalo’s Cafe, the restaurant is giving away free meals on Nov. 11.

  • Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt -- After you’ve enjoyed your free meals, travel over to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt -- find a location nearest to you here -- for some dessert. The yogurt chain is giving away free six-ounce frozen yogurt and toppings all day long.

  • Peet's Coffee -- If you're in the mood for a coffee after your dessert, visit one of Peet's Coffee's 200 locations to get a complementary drip coffee or tea.
