A Merrill Lynch vice president was arrested and fired after an altercation with a smoothie shop worker in Connecticut. The man was caught on video at a Robeks location calling the worker a "f---ing immigrant loser" and was seen throwing a smoothie at her.

James "Jim" Iannazzo, 48, was arrested on charges of intimidation based on bias, breach of peace and criminal trespass, according to reports.

Iannazzo's son reportedly had a peanut allergy and peanuts were in the smoothie. Before the incident, Iannazzo reportedly asked to not have peanut butter in the drink. Robeks workers said that they did not know about the son's allergy

Iannazzo returned to the Robeks demanding to know the employee who made the drink. He then went on a tirade, prompting workers to call the police.

Those present during the incident asked him to leave several times as the situation escalated, but he did not.

Iannazzo was not at the Robeks when police arrived. He later turned himself in, according to a statement from the Fairfield Police Department.

Charli Hill, 17, originally posted the video on her TikTok. The video has since been removed from her platform. Hill said that “he threatened to kill us multiple times."

Both Merrill Lynch and Robeks issued statements.

Merrill Lynch responded with a statement that read, “we immediately investigated and have taken action. [Iannazzo] is no longer employed at our firm.” Iannazzo had been with Merrill Lynch since 1995. Forbes had listed Iannazzo on a list of "Best-In-State Wealth Advisors."

A statement from the lawyers representing Iannazzo alleges that he regrets the incident and that he is not a racist, merely acting out of a paternal instinct for a life-threatening incident his son experienced.

Iannazzo is expected to appear in court on Feb. 7.
