A naked man on an ATV led the Kansas City police on a nearly two-hour-long chase through the Northland, Missouri, on Sunday.

All the action was caught on camera by Jess Fishell, who was driving on Interstate 435 near the Worlds of Fun amusement park, when he spotted police cars and a law enforcement helicopter in hot pursuit of a man without clothes, driving the wrong way in the opposite lane of the freeway.

The chase began near 8400 Northeast Sam Ray Road in Kansas City, around 2 p.m. local time (3 p.m. EST), when the police received reports of “a suspicious party…a naked male” on an all-terrain vehicle, Kansas City Star reported.

The naked man, who the police believed was under the influence of drugs, entered the Northeast Shoal Creek Parkway and Missouri 152 and kept on eluding the police till he found a break in the fence and proceeded to ride south on Northeast Shoal Creek toward the Kansas City Regional Police Academy.

The man circled back into Interstate 435 and continued to head south on northbound lanes. The police cars were also forced to travel the wrong way in order to catch the culprit.

“Some cars really had to swerve to get out of his way,” said Fishell, who recorded the action on his phone as the chase went by toward Missouri 210. In the video, the ATV is seen rotating between the shoulder and the median and even getting dangerously close to incoming traffic at times.

At Missouri 210, the man switched directions and headed the right way on the ramp to westbound lanes. He was finally captured by the police at 3:45 p.m. local time (4:45 p.m. EST) after he exited at Northeast Birmingham Road, at Cerner Corp. Riverport Campus.

An ambulance was dispatched to the location. It is not immediately clear if the man was physically hurt during the chase.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed via a Twitter post that the man was in police custody. The name of the man has not been released by the police.
