Waffle House has announced that it has closed 365 restaurants during the coronavirus outbreak. The company posted the news on Twitter on Tuesday, stating that 1,627 of its restaurants were still open during the pandemic.

While Waffle House said these restaurants were closed, it did post another tweet indicating that all of its locations were open for carryout orders Many restaurants across the country have closed their indoor dining to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Along with the tweet, announcing the closures, the chain restaurant included a Waffle House Index Red map that showed the regions in which locations had closed and which were still operating. Waffle House has been known to post a Waffle House Index mas during disasters to indicate which of its restaurants were still in operation.

It was unclear at the time of writing exactly which locations were closed and if the closures were due to the coronavirus pandemic.
