Walking Dead
The survivors will enter the Alexandria safe-zone in Season 5, episode 12, of "The Walking Dead." AMC

Safety is just a gate away on “The Walking Dead” -- but that doesn’t mean things will get any easier for the survivors. Episode 11 found the group greeted by the sound of playing children outside the walls of Alexandria. This week, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others will enter the safe haven. However, adjusting to civilization may not be that easy.

According to the synopsis for episode 12, titled “Remember,” the crew will have a “difficult time molding to a new lifestyle.” As newcomer Aaron (Ross Marquand) previously explained, Alexandria is nothing like they’ve encountered before. The safe haven has homes for its people, apple trees and a secure steel wall that neither walkers nor humans can break down. The group doesn’t have to fear the dead, fight the living or wonder whether they’ll have food for dinner.

Alexandria sounds like a dream come true -- but a tough transition because of their past experiences. The episode description for “Remember” indicates the survivors will be forced to “consider whether they can be the people they once were.” Based on the promo video, it sounds like Rick will be one of the major group members struggling.

“I’ve killed people,” Rick says in the trailer for episode 12. “I don’t even know how many -- but I know why they’re all dead.”

Rick’s not the only one who will potentially be having a difficult time. Daryl (Norman Reedus) doesn’t appear to be open to living in a house, and Carl (Chandler Riggs) is afraid to open a closet door.

“Walking Dead” fans can watch the drama unfold when Season 5, episode 12, is shown on AMC Sunday, March 1, at 9 p.m. EST. Watch the promo and sneak-peek video for “Remember” below:
