There will be a big faceoff in “The Walking Dead” Season 9, episode 11. Alpha (Samantha Morton), the leader of the Whisperers, wants her daughter. A refusal will mean “conflict” between the two groups.

A preview video of the next episode showed Alpha addressing the people of Hilltop. All she wants is her daughter, and she has hostages that she appears to be ready to exchange. The only problem is that Daryl (Norman Reedus) will not be ready to send Lydia (Cassady McClincy) back to the nightmarish Whisperers.

Daryl’s refusal means a new war. Another preview video showed a scene from the next episode in which Alpha explains how the people of Hilltop crossed into the lands claimed by the Whisperers and killed a few of them. However, they will not be patient when it comes to Lydia.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, McClincy teased that the first reaction of her character when she finds out that her mother has come for her will be “shock.” Lydia previously explained that the Whisperers have a rule about people who get left behind. They just forget about the people they lost and move on.

McClincy teased that her character will feel “unpleasantness” and “hope” when she finds out about Alpha coming for her in the next episode of “The Walking Dead.” The unpleasantness comes from the fact that Lydia is beginning to like her new life at the Hilltop. But she will also feel hope because the fact that her mother broke the Whisperers’ rule to come for her means that she loves her.

The previous episode teased the origin story of Alpha from the time the zombie apocalypse first started and how she reacted to those events. In a video that has been released online, executive producer Denise Huth explained how the leader of the Whisperers is a “very strong leader who has a very specific way of living.”

While a lot has changed in “The Walking Dead” series when compared to the comics on which the TV adaptation is based on, there is still a lot that has been borrowed from the source material. A new video compares the scenes from the comics to the recently aired episode of the show.
