"Breaking Bad" officially ended five years ago, but the beloved crime drama has lived on in various ways since its finale. A big debate that surrounded the popular AMC show was whether or not Walter White died. Now, with Netflix's "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie" set to premiere Oct. 11, creator Vince Gilligan has given an official answer regarding the drug kingpin's fate.

While promoting the new Netflix film, Gilligan stopped by "The Rich Eisen Show" to discuss Heisenberg.

"Yeah, I'm going to give you that one, Rich, because I love you so much. Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes," the creator stated when questioned about the fate of his main character.

Even though fans of White may be disappointed to hear the official news, they still have a lot to look forward to when "El Camino" makes it debut. The film is set to follow Jesse Pinkman and the aftermath of the intense AMC series finale. Additionally, Walt's eventual death certainly doesn't mean that Bryan Cranston's character cannot appear in flashbacks of some sort.

As for the creation process of the new project, Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse Pinkman, recently recounted the secrecy around the new film.

"When we were shooting outside in public places, they had us wear these hilarious-looking cloaks. It felt like we were walking onto a 'Star Wars' set," he shared with USA Today, adding, "I personally thought it brought way more attention to us, but it was actually much easier than I thought it was going to be. We didn't have a problem with paparazzi at all; no one knew this was happening."

"El Camino" will release on Netflix on Oct. 11.
