Count on the team behind the next video game starring Batman to be as mysterious and enticing as The Dark Knight himself.

Developers Warner Bros. Montreal dropped a hint for their eagerly-anticipated “Batman” game ahead of the expected unveiling at the DC Fandome event this coming Saturday.

For the past two years, WB Montreal has already been hinting at a new Batman-centric title after their involvement in 2013’s “Batman: Arkham Origins” served as their first foray into Gotham City.

Regarding this new Batman game, it is rumored to be a reboot of Rocksteady’s fan-favorite “Arkham” series, retaining the same combat and stealth gameplay that made those titles beloved by players while featuring a fresh storyline for Bruce Wayne’s infamous alter ego.

The DC Fandome global event is a virtual experience dedicated to fans of all things related to DC Comics. This 24-hour event will feature over 100 hours of programming for fans to take part in, including panels with people from DC productions, exclusive world premieres, behind-the-scenes looks at worlds and characters from the DC Universe, fan-curated content, and more.

ScreenRant reports that Rocksteady will also be debuting its upcoming “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” game during the event alongside upcoming DC Comics-based films and TV shows.

A few hours ago, WB Montreal added more fuel to the fire by teasing their new Batman game on Twitter. The developer’s cryptic video features a red circle moving around a ring while some kind of triangular symbol forms in the center. The screen then flashes with what appears to be an owl, seemingly confirming the previous rumors that the Court of Owls will serve as the game's primary enemy.

The post also contains a web address for a website named "R3dakt3d", which features the equally cryptic message of “We’ve Been Expecting You.”

Created by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, the mysterious Court of Owls first appeared in Batman #2 in 2011. It is a secret society of Gotham City’s elite that has been operating in the shadows, running the city since the 17th century.

Unknown to most of Gotham, the Court employs the use of personally trained assassins dubbed “Talons” to enforce their control of every major aspect of society through any means necessary. This naturally brings them into direct conflict with the Dark Knight.

Since their debut appearance, the Court of Owls has crossed over into other comics as well as onto DC animated films and even the television show “Gotham” featuring a pre-Batman Bruce Wayne.

The cryptic posts from WB Montreal are certainly intriguing and would certainly arouse interest from Batman since he is a detective at his core. A revelation of a new video game starring the Dark Knight would undoubtedly make the DC Fandome event even more enticing to attend for both comics and video game fans.
