"Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot continued to be a topic of discussion Tuesday morning following a viral albeit erroneous debate about her alleged $300,000 salary for her work in the summer blockbuster.

Gadot's speculated salary was said to be lower than fellow "Superman v. Batman" star Henry Cavill's reported $14 million pay per film, adding more fire to the Hollywood pay gap dilemma. But that is not the case.

Box Office Mojo notes that "Wonder Woman" has raked in over $570 million worldwide to date. This makes director Patty Jenkins the fourth female in history to hit this milestone, according to BuzzFeed.

Given the success of the Warner Bros. and DC Comics film venture, Gadot's alleged salary has raised some eyebrows. However, the rumors have been confirmed as inaccurate.

According to TMZ, the reported $300,000 payment was only the base salary Gadot was set to receive for "Wonder Woman." Therefore, this number doesn't include the "huge performance bonuses" that Gadot would also earn for the film.

It was confirmed in 2014 that the Israeli actress signed a deal with Warner Bros. that sealed the deal, according to Variety. Gadot's $300,000-base pay was limited to a three-picture deal since the studio was unsure of how moviegoers would "react to Wonder Woman in the...Batman-Superman movie."

The three-picture deal included the movies "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League." Therefore, Gadot's base salary could increase after "Justice League" debuts later this year.

Cavill's rumored $14 million was also proven to false as Vulture noted that he made six figures for his role as Superman, which is what Gadot made. Cavill's "Superman" co-star Amy Adams earned more than Cavill, pulling in a seven-figure paycheck to play his love interest, Lois Lane. The rumored $14 million that Cavill had allegedly earned included bonuses for the film's box office performance, according to Vanity Fair.

It's not uncommon for actors to reel in a smaller base pay for their debut within high-profile superhero flicks.

Actor Chris Evans, who plays Captain America within the Marvel film universe, earned $300,000 for "Captain America: The First Avenger," according to CBR. Like Gadot, he earned this base salary for his first solo venture on the big screen.

Vanity Fair added to the discussion regarding actors' "entry level" pay rates for their debut solo outings in superhero flicks by speaking with a source that was familiar with the topic.

"Entry level actors in franchise films are paid an initial rate," a source shared with Vanity Fair Tuesday. "As a franchise takes off, they stand to make more money."

There are anomalies like Robert Downey Jr. Moviepilot notes that the actor managed to earn roughly $50 million by the time "Iron Man 3" hit theaters. He initially was reported to have earned around $500,000 for the first "Iron Man" film in 2008.

Since actors do occasionally receive bonuses once their films reach a box office milestone, Gadot will walk away with more than her base pay as the film continues to generate money worldwide.
