A San-Francisco bound flight from Mexico City had to be grounded last week to remove a drunk and disorderly passenger, according to the Mercury News Sunday. The flight experienced an emergency landing after the man could not be contained.

Laura Aceves, a 20-year-old passenger on the flight, saw flight attendants begin moving frantically around the cabin.

“They were pacing because a passenger was very disruptive,” Aceves told the Mercury News. “Then we had to do an emergency landing at the nearest airport.”

The airport the plane landed at was Guadalajara International Airport in Guadalajara, Mexico.

“The crew asked him first to be quiet, but the passenger was harassing people on the plane,” Aceves said. “We landed and you could see (police) through the windows.”

The video Aceves took on her phone depicts a well-dressed man surrounded by authorities in reflective vests forcing him down that aisle as he screams. Aceves said that the man smelled strongly of alcohol.

The men in vests ask the drunken man to calm down in Spanish, while he screams swears back at them.

It took 30 to 40 minutes to remove the man, according to Aceves.

Aeromexico did not respond to request for comment. An uninterrupted flight from Mexico City to San Francisco takes around four hours.

An Aeromexico flight collided with a fuel truck on the runway of Los Angeles’ airport in May, overturning the vehicle. No passengers were injured, but six of the crew members on the fuel truck had to be taken to the hospital to be treated.
