While some fans are furious after Zayn Malik didn’t acknowledge One Direction’s 10th anniversary on Thursday, others are in full support of his decision. On Monday, fans were able to get “We Love You Zayn” trending on Twitter following backlash over the singer’s silence.

Zayn left the group in 2015, and one year later, the remaining members of One Direction went on hiatus to focus on solo projects. Although Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne shared special tributes to recognize the milestone, Zayn remained noticeably mum.

However, one fan praised the “Pillowtalk” singer for his charitable donations and revealed that they were disappointed that the 27-year-old was being criticized.

“Zayn is literally the most unproblematic celeb but receives the most hate. I simply cannot post all the wonderful donations & awareness he raised for important social causes. This man is wonderful, and I appreciate him so much,” the fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, another fan revealed they were thrilled to see that fans were rallying behind the “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” singer.

“This is what I would love to see every day. He doesn’t deserve an ounce of hate he gets. Leave him tf alone, he is not bothering any of you so, go do something useful with your life for once. WE LOVE YOU ZAYN,” the individual wrote.

One individual fan tweeted, “Stop hating on zayn for not tweeting about the anniversary, he left for his mental health and he doesn’t owe you anything.”

In the past, Zayn has opened up about his battle with anxiety and an eating disorder. Since he has left One Direction, he revealed that he has managed to take control of his struggles.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Zayn has been laying low and spending time with his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who is pregnant with their first child.
