Peppermint-flavored coffees and candies seem to take over during the holiday season but there is a new way to enjoy the flavor this year.

On Tuesday, fast-food chain Wendy's released a new flavor for its beloved frosty: the Peppermint Frosty.

The new frosty flavor comes following Wendy's summer seasonal Strawberry Frosty that it also introduced for the first time this year.

The Peppermint Frosty will be available along with chocolate and vanilla flavors.

"The Peppermint Frosty is our latest flavor innovation on the iconic Wendy's Frosty that fans have come to know and love for over 50 years," John Li, Wendy's vice president of culinary innovation, said in a press release.

Wendy's chief marketing officer Carl Loredo said in an interview with CNN Business that the strawberry flavor's success inspired the peppermint flavor.

"Folks enjoyed the strawberry Frosty enough that we knew it was important to get after another flavor and one that would tie well with the holidays," Loredo said.

In 2021, Wendy's reported systemwide sales of $11.11 billion, making it the fifth-biggest chain behind McDonald's, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell.
