On Monday, it was announced that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner welcomed a daughter on July 22 at a hospital in Los Angeles. This is the first child for both the musician and the "Game of Thrones" star.

While the couple has yet to confirm their new arrival, a report has revealed what the famous pair decided to name their child.

According to TMZ, Joe and Sophie went with the name Willa, an English feminine form of William. As stated by Oh Baby! Names, the simple meaning is "valiant protector."

The publication also noted that Willa was a name that was used semi-frequently at the turn of the 20th century and peaked in popularity in the 1920s and 30s. Historically, the name achieved its best position on the charts in 1932 when it reached #273. However, it remains to be seen if Jonas and Turner's decision will cause a spike in its use once more.

Prior to the birth, the married couple had not officially confirmed the pregnancy, but in February, a source told E! that they were "extremely excited" to become parents.

"They told their families and everyone is ecstatic and so happy for them," the insider added.

At this time, it remains unclear when or if Jonas and Turner will publicly share details about their new daughter.
