Former President Barack’s daughter Malia Obama was spotted having fun time with friends over the weekend in New York City, where she currently interns for producer Harvey Weinstein at his eponymous company.

The teen sported a '90s casual look for her outing Sunday. Malia, who was all smiles, donned loose capri jeans, white high-tops and a multicolored windbreaker.

The 18-year-old was recently photographed attending a performance of Broadway play “Sweeney Todd.” The picture was shared on the play’s official Instagram account.

The former first family is known to have attended several Broadway plays including "Hamilton," "A Raisin in the Sun," "Joe Turner's Come and Gone," "Memphis" and "Kinky Boots." Last month, Malia and her father attended the performance of “The Price.”

In late January, Malia left Washington, D.C., for her internship in New York City to gain experience in the film industry during her gap year before attending Harvard University. According to her mother and former first lady Michelle Obama, Malia is planning to make a career in the film industry. However, she does not seem to be interested in facing the cameras.

A recent report by Naughty Gossip said Malia declined several modeling offers and she will stick to the film and television business.

“Malia has a model body that would be great for runways. She has been offered several opportunities to model but turned them all down. She wants to be behind the camera, not in front of it,” sources told Naughty Gossip. “She loves the film and TV business and loves reading scripts. She will leave the modeling to Kendall Jenner. She has zero interest of being famous like her dad.”

Meanwhile, Malia’s younger sister Sasha Obama is still in Washington, D.C., with her parents to complete her high school. The 15-year-old also remained absent from her father’s farewell speech in Chicago on Jan. 10. A White House official said that she stayed back in Washington, D.C., because she had an exam at school the next day.
