Meghan Markle’s going to be celebrating her first Valentine’s Day with her husband, Prince Harry, this year, but not too long ago, she was writing all about her desires for the holiday.

In 2015, the Duchess of Sussex wrote on her now-defunct blog, The Tig, about how much Valentine’s Day means to her.

“Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day,” she wrote, according to Travel and Leisure. “Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss. This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”

She continued: “[D]elusions of francophile grandeur aside, Valentine's Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself. And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”

Markle celebrated her first Valentine’s Day as a couple with Prince Harry in 2017, and the two had a cozy night in at Kensington Palace, where it’s possible she got her wish of breakfast in bed or a single flower.

While the pregnant royal will once again be spending the holiday with Prince Harry, her 2015 blog post had some advice for others when it comes to the holiday.

“…[C]ouples are cuddled up and singletons see their requisite froyo as a cup of lonely. But it doesn’t need to be,” she wrote. “I think you need to be your own Valentine.”
