Prince Charles’ handwriting suggests that he is a more apprehensive person than his wife Camilla Parker Bowles.

While at the Sandringham Flower Show, Prince Charles was photographed signing the visitors’ book. Michelle Dresbold, a handwriting expert, told Good Housekeeping that the way Prince Charles wrote his name also says a lot about his marriage to Bowles.

“Charles writes his ‘C’ starkly with a check mark, which tells me he feels a bit of anger or stress. His ‘S’ is a bit angular at the bottom too. This means that he can be a little hard and tough. There’s a softness missing about him,” she said.

Prince Charles also placed two lines under his signature. Dresbold said that this suggests he yearns to feel important and recognized. Both Prince Charles and Bowles’ signatures go vertical and slightly to the left. This suggests that they are both logical and dislike to express their emotions.

“They might appear cold, but that doesn’t mean they are. It just means both Charles and Camilla are a bit reserved in sharing how they’re feeling with the world,” she said.

Dresbold also talked about Bowle’s handwriting and said that she is calmer than Prince Charles.

“The top of Camilla’s ‘C’ has a relaxed curve, and she doesn’t write as intensely as Charles does. She writes bigger than he does and puts one line under her name, which are both signs of confidence. She doesn’t put two lines underneath like Charles. This, again, shows that she wants to be recognized, but not as much as Charles does,” she explained.

And when it comes to their marriage, Prince Charles and Bowles have a lot of things in common.

“Her handwriting is thicker, so she can bring him out of his inner world a bit. Both Charles and Camilla’s ‘A’s’ are closed at the top, which means it’s a bit tough to know what’s really happening on the inside. But Camilla seems more self-assured and appears to have a softness about her writing. By the looks of it, she knows how to relax him,” she said.
