Since news broke that there would be a "Sleepy Hollow" and "Bones" crossover event, fans have been wondering what exactly is going to happen. Thursday the network announced details about the exciting -- yet bizzare -- two hour event.

The shows are expected to crossover on Thursday Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. EDT. Fox released the synopsis for both episodes on Thursday.

On “Bones,” Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will cross paths with Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) after the discovery of some grisly human remains. After realizing that they are after the same evidence, the two duos team up to figure out the mystery. Then on “Sleepy Hollow,” an old nemesis of Ichabod’s will come back from the dead and Ichabod and Abbie will turn to Booth and Brennan for help with forensics in the hopes of unlocking 18th century secrets using modern day science, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"Sleepy Hollow" executive producer Clifton Campbell said the writer’s room was immediately energized when getting news of the crossover. “The creative freedom to merge these two worlds which, at face value, seem so different; but at their core have such striking similarities – mystery, intrigue and methodical deduction, wrapped up in such strong character partnerships,” Campbell dished in a statement to TVLine.

“Bones” executive producer Michael Peterson said the event is going to be like an episode of the "X-Files," according to TVGuide. “The Bones hour is the Scully, logic-based perspective and the Sleepy Hollow hour is more Fox Mulder-esque,” Peterson said.

“Bones” and “Sleepy Hollow” return Thursday, Oct. 1 on Fox. “Sleepy Hollow” will be going into its third season, while “Bones” will be going in its eleventh.
