After the coronavirus pandemic delayed Clare Crawley’s season of “The Bachelorette,” the ABC lead finally started her journey to find love in mid-July. Now, reports suggest she is already done with the show and the network is looking to another leading lady: Tayshia Adams.

Following the news that the latest “The Bachelor” winner Hannah Ann Sluss was also spotted on set, fans are now questioning: “What's going on with ‘The Bachelorette’ this season?"

The answer may not be so simple.

Clare Crawley

On July 30, just two weeks after filming for “The Bachelorette” Season 16 commenced, Life & Style Magazine released a report claiming Clare was refusing to film because she had “already fallen in love.” Her rumored pick? Dale Moss, a 31-year-old former NFL player from South Dakota, one of her contestants and her reported first-impression rose winner.

While the show’s spoiler king, Reality Steve’s Steve Carbone, quickly shot down the rumors as “dumb,” he later backtracked.

“...Clare has definitely moved on with Dale in some capacity,” he tweeted Monday after a report surfaced that Clare and Dale are engaged. He added, “We don’t have confirmation they were talking pre-show but we assume they were..”

Tayshia Adams

With Clare out, ABC has found a new lead in “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” alum Tayshia Adams, according to multiple reports.

“Tayshia was game and ready to go,” a source told People Magazine of the switch on Monday. “What remains to be seen is if more men will be brought in now to give Tayshia a full roster of suitors.”

ABC has yet to confirm the casting shakeup but did release a telling promo for the new season on Monday. In the clip, Clare is featured front and center before the screen goes dark and only a silhouette of a woman is featured.

Hannah Ann Sluss

The confusion around this season of “The Bachelorette” ramped up on Tuesday evening when a report was released stating that another Bachelor Nation alum was spotted earlier that same day on set. Us Weekly secured photos of “The Bachelor” Season 24 star Hannah Ann Sluss at La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California, where the show is currently filming.

According to the outlet, Hannah Ann didn’t show up empty-handed as she was seen carrying a large suitcase, possibly insinuating she's planning to stick around. Hannah Ann was also spotted talking to producer Julie LaPlaca upon her arrival.

What’s Next?

Carbone reports that ABC will air episodes of “The Bachelorette” featuring Clare when the series returns to the network on Tuesdays this fall. As for the newest speculated cast members, it appears viewers sound expect the unexpected.

“This season is so off the wall that absolutely anything and everything is on the table,” a tipster told Us Weekly on Tuesday. “Producers continue to reach out to women from the franchise in an attempt to salvage a season that just might be the most dramatic ever.”
