It’s only been about two weeks since Hallmark Movies Now began gifting Hearties more stories within the world of “When Calls the Heart” with the Season 1 premiere of “When Hope Calls.”

Now, aside from new episodes of the freshman period drama every Friday on the streaming service, as well as the upcoming Christmas special and Season 7 of “WCTH,” fans have even more to look forward to because a “When Hope Calls” book series is on the way!

That’s right, the new Hallmark TV show is getting a slew of companion novels — three to be exact — to go with it, and they’ll be written by none other than Janette Oke and her daughter, Laurel Oke Logan.

Oke wrote the Canadian West series, with the first novel of it, “When Calls the Heart,” becoming the basis of the Hallmark Channel drama. Later, Oke worked with Logan to write the Return to the Canadian West series, which is a collection of companion novels for the TV show.

Now, they’re getting ready to do the same thing for “When Hope Calls.”

The Hallmark Movies Now show follows two sisters, Lillian Walsh (Morgan Khan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudon), “who open an orphanage in the 1916 Western town of Brookfield,” according to the synopsis. “Caught between traditions of cattle ranchers and ambitions of a growing town, they strive to find romance and happiness while overcoming the challenges of helping the children in their care.”

The three-book series won’t be a novelization of what’s happening on the show; instead, it’ll be companion novels, exploring other stories with the same characters.

“Unyielding Hope,” the first novel in the series, will give Hearties more of Lillian and Grace’s backstory, focusing on when the two sisters first meet after being separated for years.

Hearties can get their hands on the first “When Hope Calls” companion book next year. “Unyielding Hope” is currently set for a May 2020 release under Bethany House Publishers, which also published the Canadian West and the Return to the Canadian West series.
