On Nov. 23, Malia Obama was spotted at a Harvard-Yale football game with her boyfriend, Rory Farquharson. Even though the pair have been dating for about two years at this point, many fans of Barack and Michelle's oldest daughter may still be curious about his background.

According to Business Insider, Farquharson is a British student who is part of Harvard's 2020 class. His father, Charles, is the chief executive of Insight Investment Management Limited, a London-based company, while his mother, Catherine, is an accountant.

Prior to attending the Ivy League university, he went to a private school in England that at one time had an annual tuition of £35,000 ($47,000). During his time there, he not only played golf and rugby, but he additionally cofounded a chemistry club.

In 2015, he also appeared in a rugby video that was played at the opening ceremony of the World Cup, which Prince Harry also appeared in.

Farquharson has also completed an internship with the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building in Northern Ireland, which works "to uphold and share the values and principles of democracy in order to build peace, stability and reconciliation."

Business Insider also reports that his Instagram at one time stated that he was a "student of law in Harvard," which would be a similarity he would have to Malia's parents as they are both graduates of Harvard Law School. It remains unclear if he has met Barack and Michelle at this point, but Malia was seen at brunch with his dad and brother earlier this year, according to the Tab.
