Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are reportedly jealous of their cousin, Zara Tindall.

Zara is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. She is Princess Anne’s second child with ex-husband Mark Phillips.

Despite being a royal, Zara is able to live a more private life and build her own career. She is a professional equestrian and has won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Even if Zara was the child of the Queen’s second child, she is in a much lower rank on the line of succession compared to Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, so she was able to live the life she wants. In 2011, the Commonwealth leaders agreed to change the laws of succession to ensure that both sons and daughters have equal rights to the throne.

Prior to that, sons would rank higher on the line of succession than their older sisters such as the case with Prince Andrew and Princess Anne. Since the Princess Royal ranks lower than her two younger brothers, her children, Zara and Peter enjoy a greater degree of freedom than Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Express reported.

“I’m very lucky that both my parents decided to not use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do,” Zara said of their upbringing.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were given formal royal ranks. However, unlike their two other cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry, they are not full-time working royals.

Prince Andrew has reportedly requested Queen Elizabeth II to make his two daughters full-time working royals. He wanted to secure their positions because the Duke of York felt that they are overshadowed by Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. He knew that it would get worse when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis get older and feared that they would be sideliend when the Queen dies.

However, the Queen denied his request. Prince Andrew was furious when Prince Charles removed them from the payroll.

At present, both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have full-time jobs. Sometimes they still attend royal engagements. Meanwhile, Zara is not expected to fulfill any royal job.
