“This Is Us” is not on tonight. Last week’s cliffhanger ending will have audiences wondering for quite a while. It was the fall finale. The NBC drama is officially on winter hiatus.

“This Is Us” Season 3 won’t be gone for forever, though. “This Is Us” Season 3, episode 10 will air Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019.

Instead of the tearjerker, NBC will air some festive specials over the next couple weeks. “A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special” will air on Tuesday night. Don’t expect a live episode. It’s a compilation of some of the best holiday-themed sketches from the NBC variety show.

Then, on Dec. 11, “America’s Got Talent” winner Darci Lynne will get her own holiday special. “Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas” will follow the Season 12 champion as she celebrates in Oklahoma. The one-hour program will feature guests like Kristin Chenoweth, Toby Keith, Hunter Hayes, Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling. “America’s Got Talent” judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B. will appear as well.

When Does This Is Us Comes Back?

When “This Is Us” returns on Jan. 15, fans can only assume that Kevin (Justin Hartley) will be on the hunt for answers. He didn’t learn much about Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) on his trip to Vietnam, but he was informed that Nicky (Michael Angarano) didn’t actually die in the war. The episode ended with a clip of an adult Nicky living in Pennsylvania, seemingly in present day.

Elsewhere, Tess (Eris Baker) came out as gay to Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown), who is told to drop out of the race because he is too far behind in the polls to win. Randall refuses to drop out, which causes tension with Beth, who knows their home life is getting hectic. In addition to Tess coming out, Deja (Lyric Ross) has reconnected with her mother.

Meanwhile, Kate (Chrissy Metz) decides to enroll in community college and learns she is having a boy. The flash forwards also finally reveal that “her” is Rebecca (Mandy Moore). Toby (Chris Sullivan), Beth, Randall and Tess are on their way to see the matriarch, but fans don’t know why. Audiences will find out when “This Is Us” Season 3 returns in 2019.
