Pete Davidson is making it clear that his romantic rap sheet isn’t as bad as outsiders may think.

The comedian recently sat down with media personality Charlamagne Tha God for an interview, which was uploaded to the host’s YouTube channel on Monday, to discuss his love life among other things. During the conversation, the 26-year-old revealed that he hasn’t been with as many women as people may think.

“I’ve only been with like five, six people. If I was a girl, I’d be like a virgin. They were like at least three to six-months [relationships]...I’m not just like running through stuff,” he said.

The “Saturday Night Live” star also admitted to scaring a lot of women with his honesty regarding his mental health and substance abuse.

“I like to be very upfront about that so there’s like no surprises,” he said about his past relationships. “I don’t want to waste your time.”

Davidson’s “intensity” consists of frequently crying, deep conversations, and meeting the family of his significant other. He is also a self-proclaimed romantic.

“What can I say? I love love, but I’m pretty done with that. I’m going to try and stay away from that. It’s just a lot,” the star admitted. “I love being in a relationship. I love doing stuff and Netflixing and hanging out, going out to dinner. I love that [expletive]. It makes me really happy. Also, it’s an escape from life when you have, like, a partner. It’s fun. ...It’s nice to have a lady around.”

Among the ladies Davidson has dated are model Kaia Gerber, and actresses Margaret Qualley, Cazzie David, and Kate Beckinsale. Perhaps, more notably, he was formerly engaged to pop star Ariana Grande. Davidson feels that his relationship with Grande often overshadows the 10 years of work he’s put in as a comedian.

“It sucks for like six-month thing to completely take over that,” he explained. “Not a lot of people knew anything [about me] until I started dating her. So yeah, it's difficult, and it's definitely a little bit of a punch in the gut.”

However, he admits that with some boundaries the relationship will be the punchline of some of his upcoming jokes.

“She’s the queen of shade,” Davidson said referencing Grande’s Grammy performance where placed a ring in a box. “I feel like she got her fair run and her fair stab at it, and like I said, I don't have social media and I don't have an outlet really to express my feelings so standup's just how I do it."

Overall, Davidson is happy with currently being single and taking some time to focus on his career.
