“Big Little Lies” Season 2 won big at the 2017 Emmys on Sunday night, and some of its cast members were also recognized at the prestigious event.

The hit HBO series bagged the best limited series award, while cast member Nicole Kidman brought home the best actress in a limited series award. Reese Witherspoon won as an executive producer for the show, and Alexander Skargsgard was named as best supporting actor in a limited series.

Even though the series only released seven episodes last season, it became widely talked about by viewers and critics who noted that it tackled very important issues. Kidman’s character, Celeste, was abused by her husband, Perry (Skarsgard). She struggled to leave him because of their children, but finally managed to do so in the end. This did not make Perry happy so he tried to assault Celeste in public. This ended with Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) pushing Perry and killing him.

Since then, there have been talks about a possible Season 2 for “Big Little Lies.” A few months back, Kidman and Witherspoon revealed that the fate of the show will depend on book author Liane Moriarty. While at the 2017 Emmys, she said, “I’m still thinking about it.” Witherspoon echoed to Deadline, “We’re talking about it. There’s nothing definitive yet.”

“Big Little Lies” director and executive producer Jean-Marc Valle, who also won at the Emmys as outstanding director and EP in a limited series, said that he’s open to reuniting the entire cast. “Let’s see what the future holds,” he added.

Kidman, who has been very attached to her role said, “We love playing these roles. These story lines are complex and interesting. It would be fantastic if we could continue them all. We’re just savoring this moment,” she said.

According to TV Line, it might be difficult to come up with a schedule for all of the A-list actors who starred in “Big Little Lies” Season 1. But the people behind the series, as well as HBO, could come up with something after the show’s big win.

“Big Little Lies” Season 1 wrapped up on April 2.
