Will you be seeing President Bill Clinton on season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars”? If the show's casting director Deena Katz had her way you would, because she’s been trying to book him ever since the show began.

Katz revealed her desire to book the former president while speaking to ABC News, but she admitted that she hasn’t asked him recently due to his schedule. Of course, Bill has been spending much of his time on the campaign trail as of late, trying to help his wife Hillary Clinton become the 45th President of the United States.

“You know I ask Bill Clinton every time,” Katz revealed. “But this time I actually didn’t ask him, because I thought he might be a little busy.”

“Dancing With the Stars” has been on for 11 years — its first episode airing in 2005 —and a bevy of celebrities have been on to compete. When the show first began, however, Katz said that she was worried that it wouldn’t catch on, and that she wouldn’t be able to secure any decent guests.

“The concern was that it’s not gonna be a hit,” she said in a 2009 interview with TheWrap. “No one ever wants to sign on to something until they know who’s doing it. Are we going to be showing them in the best light? I think that when Evander Holyfield said yes, he legitimized it.”

“A lot of agents aren’t sure they want their clients seen on a reality show at all,” added Katz. “I have to convince them that this will help their career. I’ll talk until I’m blue in the face, but they still think their client is bigger than a reality show.”

As it relates to Bill Clinton being on an upcoming season, there’s no word from Katz whether she’ll continue to pursue him or not, but it’s not because the former president doesn’t like the show. In fact in 2010, when he was speaking at the annual Gridiron dinner in Washington D.C., Bill said that he was turned away from being a cast member. WetPaint published a portion of that comment. “Since they turned me down for ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ I had nothing better to do,” he said jokingly.

As we previously reported, there's a chance that Olympic gymnast and recent silver medal winner Laurie Hernandez could be on the 23rd season of the show, since “Dancing With the Stars” is one of her favorite programs. There’s also a possibility that “General Hospital” star Emma Samms could be on as well.
