“Winds of Winter” author George RR Martin has announced that he will be hosting “a very special show” at the Santa Fe opera. This will be a “Game of Thrones” live concert with music composer Ramin Djawadi.

In a video message to the fans on Twitter, Martin invited everyone to the Santa Fe opera this September 30th for the special event. This is the first time that the “Game of Thrones” live concert experience is coming to New Mexico. All the profits from the concert will be donated to the Stagecoach Foundation.

With the fantasy TV series having ended on HBO, the comments section of the tweet was filled with fans asking Martin for the release of “Winds of Winter.” One fan wrote that he will not be joining Martin for any event, unless it is a launch party of the book. Other fans defended the author by asking people to leave him alone ands they also suggested that he may delay the book further if people keep nagging him about it.

The fans have been waiting for the “Winds of Winter” release date announcement for a long time. The previous book in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series titled “A Dance with Dragons” was released way back in 2011.

While Martin has already written many pages of the book, he is yet to announce a release date. Apart from finishing the book, he has other obligations like working on or overseeing the work on several new TV shows that are based on his books. Vanity Fair recently compiled a list of things the author is doing other than finishing “A Song of Ice and Fire” books.

In a previous blog post, Martin confirmed that he plans to complete “Winds of Winter” by the summer of 2020. However, readers should note that the author has failed to meet such self-imposed deadlines several times in the past.
